Annual Orchid Display Kew Gardens, Richmond
The annual orchid festival is back at Kew for its 30th anniversary and this year’s theme is China, a country home to vast landscapes and incredible plant life. China is home to 10% of the world’s known plant species and over 1700 known species of orchids. You can get a little taste of China’s varied landscapes, predominantly the province of Yunnan, and native wildlife across the different zones inside the Princess of Wales Conservatory. As well as an array of orchid displays, there’ll be a range of plant sculptures on show, including a Chinese dragon, koi carp, pandas and cranes, alongside archways referencing the Chinese zodiac.

St Patrick’s Day Parade Trafalgar Square
This year, the extravaganza is taking place a couple of days before the official St Patrick’s Day celebrations, on Sunday March 15. It’s set to see more than 50,000 turning out for a huge parade featuring pageantry, floats and music. It’ll start at 11am, when it will wend its way from Hyde Park Corner, down Whitehall to a triumphant finish in Trafalgar Square. (The Hope is a local Irish Fitzrovian pub).
Fitzrovia Chapel 2-minute walk from The Newman
Designed by John Loughborough Pearson RA in the Gothic Revival style with colourful interior decor using mosaics, the chapel was built between 1891 and 1892.Located in the central courtyard of the former Middlesex Hospital, which was rebuilt between 1929 and 1935 and demolished between 2008 and 2015, the hospital chapel was preserved as a Grade II* listed building and renamed as the Fitzrovia Chapel.

Nordic Noir: works on paper from Edvard Munch to Mamma Andersson exhibition British Museum, Great Russell St, London WC1B 3DG
Around 150 graphic works on paper from more than 100 artists, including Edvard Munch, Mamma Andersson, Olafur Eliasson, John Savio, Vanessa Baird, Yuichiro Sato, Fatima Moallim and John Kørner will be on show. The exhibition aims to showcase the variety of Nordic art and the way it flourished following Munch’s death in 1994, while also exploring themes like nature and the preservation of the environment, Norse myth, the threat of the Cold War, feminism and indigenous rights.

Tache Gallery – Breanna Gordon: Introspect Tache Gallery, 33 Percy Street, London, W1T 2DF
Tache presents Introspect, the debut solo exhibition by Canadian artist Breanna Gordon (b. 1999).
Breanna has been exhibiting her paintings for 7 years, participating in group shows in Canada and internationally. Her recent work has gained recognition through awards, nominations and becoming the acquisitions of private collectors.
Then and Now: London’s transport in photographs London Transport Museum, London WC2E 7BB
London Transport Museum is celebrating the 25th anniversary of TfL and showing how public transport in the city has changed over the last 160 years. Historical images from the Museum’s collection are on display alongside newly commissioned images taken by photographer and TfL train driver Anne Maningas, who shot her photographs on a vintage Bronica medium format film camera from the 1990s.

The show, coinciding with the studio’s 50th anniversary, will take you behind the scenes of the animation process, covering development, storyboarding, model making, filming and post-production, exploring how the likes of Morph, Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep come to life. Over 150 items, across sketches, concept art, puppets, props, scripts, and set models, will be on display, including development sketches for Morph.
