The best British hotels of 2025 (and the new ones to stay at this year)
London hotels continue to open with breathtaking regularity, most of them part of international brands and eye-wateringly expensive. The Newman, opening in early 2026 and managed by London-based Kinsfolk and Co, feels much more home-grown. Set in Fitzrovia, the Newman aims to celebrate its literary, multi-faceted neighbourhood with an approach, if its website is anything to go by, that feels elegant and intelligent, with a wealth of inside tips and a hand drawn map. I can’t wait to explore both the Newman – which will have a brasserie, an intimate bar called Gambit, an entire floor dedicated to wellness and a penthouse suite with a huge terrace – and its neighbourhood.
