The 81 art deco-influenced rooms are truly exquisite, with everything from floorings to furniture bespoke and supercharged with glamour. Equally captivating is Fitzrovia’s back story. Former residents include George Orwell and Virginia Woolf, who lived on Fitzroy Square, while Coldplay formed while living on Maple Street as students, and Karl Marx loved a pub crawl through the neighbourhood’s bohemian inns.
